It’s New Year’s Eve, on a beautiful patch of land in Texas. I know these 2016 as the worst-year-ever memes have been super popular, and I’d love to not go there. Because even if the biggest and boldest signs and signals may look scary, I think if we stretch and strain a little, we can think of lots to feel good about (or cheat and check out Vox’s 99 reasons).
I want to look toward 2017 as a time that can be full of promise, if we are willing to work for it. So for my last post of the year, I want to point to something that happened when Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth decided to do just that: by spending a portion of their holiday getting to know the kids at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego (thanks to Refinery29 for the pick up).
One of them was Julia Davidson, who is battling neuroblastoma. She sang to them about something I suspect most of us are searching for these days. Here’s wishing that in 2017, we all find ways to create the magic of a rainbow connection.
